
Ozzie Stewart: Entrepreneur/Podcast Host/Actor/Model/Published Author
Ozzie migrated from the island of Trinidad in the Caribbean to win simultaneous dance scholarships at Alvin Ailey’s, Joffrey Ballet, and Martha Graham’s schools. Later she made her mark in the men’s industry for 16 years, later becoming the first black female to have her own successful, garment-industry showroom on 42nd Street and Broadway, in the heart of Times Square, after holding positions as: National Sales Manager, Exec VP for companies for which she became the go-to person to increase sales, nationally and internationally, in quick turn around.
Her showroom was responsible for the sales, marketing and merchandising of clothing lines such as: Bushi by Busta Rhymes, Kyle Young and others, as well as was instrumental in sales for:DMX’s Ruff Ryders, Jay Z’s Rocawear, Phat Farm, John Starks’ The Original Man, Damani Dada, Carl Jones, Ecko Unlimited, Sir Bennie Miles and others.
She is still living in Manhattan, NY, for over 40 years after a nomadic childhood living in the US, London, and Trinidad. She fell back into the entertainment industry as an actor and commercial model ( IMDB BIO ) and later began a YouTube series in the Fall of 2019, which was transformed into a Podcast series in the Covid spring of 2020. On The Call Podcast shines light on the lives and careers of those who have impacted her life. This year 2023 after beginning with 5 video episodes to 88 audio episodes, ending its 7th season so far with 4 live, in-studio episodes, Ozzie is going beyond the call, taking on causes of: the abused, the addicted, the trafficked, the homeless, the animals and our climate.
In 2022, Ozzie finally published her book – Amen to Sweet SPOTS – a tribute to the one who encouraged her to step back into the entertainment industry and pushed her to accomplishments she never thought were available to her.
In her culture of care, in 1991, Ozzie formed and grew Weehawken Share, in Weehawken, New Jersey a food co-op that offered needy residents a $40 food package for $13.
